Located in the California Desert, our 1,000‑acre Forward Operating Base (FOB) sits on historic terrain once used by General Patton to prepare troops during World War II. Today, that same desert serves as the foundation for ZLAR’s modern training environment. Our FOB includes 40 modular cabins within a gated sector, secured by access checkpoints. Built for function and readiness, the cabins provide on‑site housing that keeps trainees, instructors and vetted guests embedded directly into the training environment.

aviation apron /
assembly area
A secure platform for staging and deployment of drones, vehicles and equipment. Also used for troop assembly, mission briefings and coordinated training exercises.

fob operations center
The daily heartbeat of the base – housing headquarters, classrooms, gym, Pilot’s Lounge and advanced simulation facilities.

drop-zone with tower
A multi-use tower for drone control, overwatch and training support, surrounded by flexible terrain for scenario-based exercises.

shooting range
A controlled live-fire area supporting exercises, fire demonstrations and reward-based shooting.

close quarter battle (CQB) training villages
Multiple mock villages supporting dynamic entry, search and force-on-force scenarios in both rural and urban settings.

FIsh Farm Village
Once an experimental aquaculture site, Fish Farm Village spans several acres of industrial pads, tanks, and derelict structures scattered across the desert floor. Now fully abandoned and reclaimed by the environment, the location offers an authentic, raw, and complex setting unlike any purpose‑built facility.
ZLAR utilises Fish Farm Village as a specialist training zone, ideal for high‑level tactical scenarios, FPV operations, reconnaissance, and immersive decision‑making exercises. Its broken layout, isolation, and multi‑building footprint create a realistic environment that challenges teams and enhances operational readiness. A former industrial site transformed into a high‑value training asset — Fish Farm Village is one of ZLAR’s most distinctive environments for advanced tactical development.

faa-approved runway
A 4,500-foot certified runway capable of supporting C-130 operations, extending the FOB’s capacity for mobility, resupply and VIP access.

advanced driving track
A 2.7-mile track designed for tactical driving instruction, including evasive maneuvers, protective driving, and precision vehicle handling.

Guest Cabins
